Connect Claude to HighCohesion MCP Server
Add the HighCohesion MCP Server to Claude so you can ask about your integrations in plain English. Read-only, using your Control Panel login.
When to use this
Use this guide to connect Claude to your HighCohesion account. Once connected, you can ask which streams handle a certain data type, why an event failed or what a lookup table contains, without opening the Control Panel. The connection is read-only and limited to your own organisation's data; see How the HighCohesion connector works for what it can and cannot access, and What you can ask the HighCohesion connector for example questions.
Claude is the only AI client HC has documented and tested. Other clients that support MCP servers should work in a similar way; if you use one and get stuck, email support@highcohesion.com.
Before you start
A HighCohesion Control Panel account with two-factor authentication set up. You sign in to the connector with this account.
A Claude account with the Connectors setting available. Custom connectors are not offered on every Claude plan; if you cannot see the option, check with whoever manages your Claude account.
The connector URL: https://mcp.highcohesion.com/mcp
Steps
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.
Click Add custom connector and enter https://mcp.highcohesion.com/mcp.
Claude opens a browser window for login. Sign in with your Control Panel email, password and 2FA code.
On the consent screen, approve read-only access.
Start a chat and ask a question about your integrations, for example "Which of our streams are paused?". Claude picks up the connection automatically; if it does not, click + → Connectors and toggle HighCohesion on for that conversation.
The first time you ask something in a new chat, Claude asks you to approve a tool called whoami, which checks who you are. Approve it.
To stop approving tools one by one, open the connector's Tools tab in Settings and set the tools you use to Always allow.
What you should see
Claude answers using your organisation's data: stream names, statuses and errors as they appear in the Control Panel. HighCohesion is listed under Settings → Connectors, where you can disconnect it at any time.
If it did not work
The login window rejects your details. Use the same email, password and 2FA code you use for the Control Panel; there are no separate credentials for the connector.
Claude answers without using your data. Check that HighCohesion is toggled on under + → Connectors for the conversation, and that you approved the whoami tool.
You are using a different AI client. Email support@highcohesion.com with the client's name and we will help.
