How to find a specific event in the Control Panel

Locate a specific order, stock update, return, or refund in the Control Panel using search and filters.

When to use this

Use this guide to locate a specific order, stock update, return or refund in the Control Panel using search and filters, whether or not you know which stream it went through.

For what each part of the events screen shows, see Reading the dashboard.

Before you start

  • Have the source reference to hand: the order number, SKU or other identifier from the source system.

  • Know roughly when the event should have happened, so you can set the date filter.

Steps

Search within a stream

  1. Open the Control Panel and go to Streams.

  2. Click the stream name.

  3. Click the Events icon.

  4. Use the search bar to search by order number, SKU or other source reference.

  5. Use the status filter to narrow to Failed, Pending or another specific status.

  6. Use the date filter to narrow to the relevant time window.

Search across all streams

  1. Open the global event list.

  2. Enter the order number or other reference.

Export events

  1. Select the events you want.

  2. Export the list as an Excel file. The export matches the on-screen table, which is useful for reconciliations or for sharing a failure list with HC.

What you should see

Matching events are listed newest first. When you search across all streams, the results show matching events from every stream. The source reference shown in the event list is the order number or identifier from the source system.

If it did not work

The event does not appear for the reference you searched. If your order numbers contain a prefix in one system but not another, try searching with and without the prefix.

The event does not appear in the default view. Expand your date range.

The event does not appear anywhere in the Control Panel. It may not have reached HC at all, which means the source system did not send a webhook or trigger an event. Go to An event hasn't arrived in the destination system for further steps.

If you still cannot find the event, contact HC: see How to get support.

Available filters

On the events list you can search by event name and filter by status, stream, source system, destination system and created date range. Events are listed newest first. Filtering by job ID is useful when you want every event from one particular run.
